1. General Information
These Terms & Conditions of Sale ("T&Cs") govern all purchases made on the website www.thesunwood.com (the "Website"), operated by:

By placing an order on our Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these T&Cs in their entirety. These T&Cs apply to all customers, regardless of their country of residence.
2. Products
The Sunwood sells premium portable beach shaders with built-in pillow and related accessories.
All products are described as accurately as possible on the Website. However, slight variations in colour may occur due to screen display settings. These variations do not constitute a defect and cannot be grounds for cancellation or refund.
The Sunwood reserves the right to modify, discontinue, or update any product at any time without prior notice.
3. Pricing
All prices displayed on the Website are shown in each country's currency and are inclusive of applicable VAT for customers residing in France and the European Union.
For customers residing outside the European Union, prices are displayed excluding local taxes and import duties, which remain the sole responsibility of the customer.
The Sunwood reserves the right to modify its prices at any time. The price applicable to your order is the price displayed at the time of placing your order.
4. Placing an Order
To place an order, you must:
- Add the desired product(s) to your cart
- Provide accurate delivery and billing information
- Select your preferred payment method
- Confirm and pay for your order
Once your order has been confirmed and payment received, a confirmation email will be sent to the email address provided. This confirmation email constitutes acceptance of your order by The Sunwood.
The Sunwood reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order in the event of a suspected fraud, payment issue, or unavailability of the product.
5. Payment
The following payment methods are accepted:
- Credit & debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
- PayPal / Apple Pay / Google Pay / American Express / Bancontact etc
- Any other payment method available at checkout
All payments are processed securely via Shopify Payments. The Sunwood does not store any banking or card information. In the event of payment failure or fraud, The Sunwood reserves the right to cancel the order immediately.
6. Right of Withdrawal — EU Customers
In accordance with European Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, customers residing in the European Union have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days of receiving their order, without providing any reason.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, please notify us within this 14-day period by contacting us at: Email: support@thesunwood.com
Upon receipt of your withdrawal request, you must return the product(s) within 14 days. Products must be returned in their original condition, unused, and in their original packaging. Return shipping costs are at the customer's expense unless the product is faulty or incorrectly sent.
Once the returned product has been received and inspected, a full refund will be issued within 14 days using the same payment method as the original transaction.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal: The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- Products that have been used, damaged, or are not in their original condition
- Personalised or custom-made products
7. Returns & Refunds
If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect product, please contact our customer support team within 14 days of receipt, providing your order number and photographs of the issue.
In such cases, The Sunwood will offer, at its discretion:
- A replacement product at no additional cost
- A full or partial refund
Returns outside of the withdrawal period or not relating to a defect will not be accepted.
For customers residing outside the European Union, return conditions may vary in accordance with the local legislation applicable in their country of residence.
8. Legal Warranty — French & EU Law
In accordance with French law, all products sold by The Sunwood are subject to the following legal warranties:
- Legal warranty of conformity (Articles L.217-4 to L.217-14 of the French Consumer Code): if a product does not conform to your order, you may request a repair, replacement, or refund within 2 years of delivery.
- Legal warranty against hidden defects (Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code): if a hidden defect renders the product unfit for its intended use, you may request a refund or price reduction within 2 years of discovering the defect.
These warranties apply without prejudice to any commercial warranty offered by The Sunwood.
9. Liability
The Sunwood cannot be held liable for:
- Any indirect or consequential damages resulting from the use of its products
- Delays caused by the carrier or customs authorities
- Any damage resulting from misuse of the product
- Events beyond its reasonable control (force majeure)
The Sunwood's liability shall in no event exceed the total amount paid for the order in question.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Website (texts, images, logos, product descriptions) is the exclusive property of The Sunwood and is protected by intellectual property law. Any unauthorised reproduction or use is strictly prohibited.
11. Personal Data
Personal data collected during the ordering process is used solely for the purpose of processing your order and managing the customer relationship. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy available on the Website.
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data by contacting us at: support@thesunwood.com
12. Applicable Law & Dispute Resolution
These T&Cs are governed by French law for customers residing in France and the European Union.
For customers residing outside the European Union, the local legislation applicable in their country of residence shall apply with regard to consumer rights and contractual obligations.
Amicable resolution: In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to seek an amicable resolution before initiating any legal proceedings. Please contact our customer support team in the first instance at: support@thesunwood.com
Mediation: Failing an amicable resolution, and regardless of the customer's country of residence, referral to a competent and independent consumer mediator shall be mandatory prior to any legal action.
EU customers may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
For customers residing outside the European Union, an independent mediator may be jointly appointed by both parties.
Jurisdiction: In the absence of an amicable resolution or successful mediation, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent French courts, unless otherwise required by the mandatory consumer protection laws of the customer's country of residence.
13. Modifications to T&Cs
The Sunwood reserves the right to update these T&Cs at any time. The version applicable to your order is the one in force at the time of placing your order. We encourage you to review these T&Cs regularly.
